CIRPLACAR, a collaborative project involving LATEP, IMDEA Energía, and the Institute of Structure of Matter, secured second place in the 4th edition of the SIGRAUTO Innovation in Recovery Awards at the X National Meeting on End-of-Life Vehicle Management and Recycling in IFEMA Madrid.
This award recognizes the project's significant contribution to recycling end-of-life vehicle plastic waste. CIRPLACAR develops new recycling methods by combining mechanical and chemical processes to enhance recycling rates in the automotive sector, aligning with Spain's and Europe's circular economy strategies.
Coordinated by Professor Rafael García Muñoz, a Chemical Engineering professor at URJC, the project is funded by the Spanish State Research Agency under the EU's Next Generation program.
