LATEP

The LATEP is a laboratory for the physical-chemical characterization of polymers and the study of their relationship with the molecular structure of the material. The LATEP was set up in 2004 as an agreement between Repsol Technology Centre and the Departments of Environmental and Chemistry Technology, Chemical and Energy Technology, and Material Science and Engineering, all of them located at the Rey Juan Carlos University (Campus of Mostoles – Madrid).

Mission

The fundamental mission of the LATEP is to offer support to the analysis, characterization and research needs requested by companies and research centres in the plastic sector.

Laboratory activities

The LATEP carries out analysis and characterization tests on polymeric materials following international standards. At the same time the LATEP has several research lines in synthesis and characterization of polymers. For achieving the different goals a group of more than 30 people are involved (technicians, researchers and professors).

The LATEP is a certified laboratory according to ISO 9001:2008 for performing polymer characterization tests.

LATEP is accredited according to UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for testing "Determination of the Strain Hardening Modulus in relation to slow crack growth" (SH)" following the ISO 18488:15.
